- Help a family in need. The School of Medicine is kicking off its annual Adopt-A-Family program for families in need who live in the Forest Park Southeast and Botanical Heights neighborhoods. School of Medicine departments interested in adopting a family should contact Sharon Elder at eldersh@wusm.wustl.edu before Friday, Nov. 5. Families will be assigned to departments before the Thanksgiving holiday.

- Football defeats Carnegie Mellon. The football team overcame three first-half turnovers Oct. 30 to rally for a 20-13 overtime victory over Carnegie Mellon University at Francis Field in the University Athletic Association opener for both teams. The Bears (6-2, 1-0 UAA) continue conference play Saturday, Nov. 6, at Case Western Reserve University.
